Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) traded lower, but cryptocurrency prices remained above the $26,000 level on Thursday.
Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) also posted losses, but traded above the $1,800 mark this morning.
Initial jobless claims in the United States rose to 261,000 in the week ended June 3, the highest level since October 2021, and above market estimates of 235,000.

Terra Classic (CRYPTO: LUNC) was the biggest gainer in the previous 24 hours, while Kava (CRYPTO: KAVA) turned out to be the biggest loser.
At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap has fallen to $1.1 trillion, registering a 24-hour decline of 1.5%. BTC traded down 1.2% to $26,497 while ETH fell around 1% to $1,848 on Thursday.
