Bitcoin Miner Hut 8 mines 147 BTC, struggles with damaged miners

Bitcoin mining companies were in the tough phase during the crypto winters. With general market conditions improving, the mining sector followed suit to perform better in the event. However, several issues related to hashrate and mining revenue persisted here and there. Top miners like Hut 8 Mining and Marathon Digitals reported their BTC production in May and their hashrate throughout the month. The growing popularity of Bitcoin ordinal listings has also boosted miner earnings over the past few months.

Hut 8, a leading crypto exchange in North America, reported that Bitcoin (BTC) production during the month of May was 147 BTC on June 9. The company sold more digital assets than it produced in a similar timeframe.

Block rewards and transaction fees accrued Hut 8,147 Bitcoin (BTC). In the meantime, he sold 179 BTC. Overall, the company managed to accrue revenue worth 6.8 million USD. In the month of May, Hut 8’s total bitcoin reserve reached 9,233 BTC.

Hut 8 noted in the statement that the hash rate capability of the application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) installed at its Drumheller, Alberta facility was 2.6 exahashes/sec (EH/s).

The global Bitcoin network hashrate currently stands at 433.102 EH/s. Considering the overall hashrate of the network, the computing power used by the exchange-listed crypto-miner is around 0.67%.

Hut 8 Mining seeks a way out of damage

The issue of damaged equipment at Drumheller Company, Alberta Sire, did not receive much development. Power outages and equipment failures were cited as the reason for the delay.

Hut 8 said efforts to get the equipment back online and working as planned are slower. In addition to repairing and reinstalling individual miner hashboards, failing and repairing other hashboards slows down production and lowers the hash rate.

The company is said to be in talks with the US Bitcoin Corporation for its merger.

Marathon Handles More Bitcoin (BTC) Production in May

Earlier this month, another major crypto miner, Marathon Digital Holdings, announced its Bitcoin production for the past month. It was said to be mining around 1,245 Bitcoin (BTC) in May 2023. Production is up 77% from April 2023 production. The company cited its proprietary software to give BTC production of society witnessed the huge leap.

Bitcoin miners have the opportunity to generate additional revenue after upgrading ordinals. Transaction fees for registrations on the network have led to a noticeable increase in income for miners. Until May 2023, the prevalence of transaction fees generated by Listings trading was around 26%.
