Judge Tells ‘Crypto-Couple’ They’re Going Bankrupt

[ad_1]

A judge has told an estranged married couple — who own over 500,000 in cryptocurrency and additional reserves of gold and silver bullion — they’ll likely file for bankruptcy and you’ll be left with nothing .

In family court, Judge Alec Gabbett told the two they had to make it up because it looks like the two will be fighting to the death at this point.

He said: Rarely have I encountered a case as emotional as this and I have never seen two people as emotionally charged as you two in court.

The husband told the court that the couple currently have 1.3 million assets frozen in a European country.

The two separated several years ago and have been engaged in various legal battles in different countries regarding their divorce.

Judge Gabbett said: This case is a monster. It’s a monster. You have created a monster between the two of you, and I distribute the blame equally along these lines.

Judge Gabbett said the couple were two very intelligent and well-educated people, but

He told the man that you were totally and utterly deceived in some way about some aspect of this and that – you could lose your very good job.

The wife was seeking a security order and Judge Gabbett granted the woman a three-year security order against her ex-husband.

Judge Gabbett said: “I am very concerned for her well-being and the well-being of the child in a situation where there is no protection of any kind.

Judge Gabbett said there were no allegations of physical abuse against the man in the case.

The judge said to the man: You’re coming up with all kinds of schemes to bring her down and that’s the part that worries me the most. I grant a security order for three years that covers that you are a child.

The wife said the couple were early investors in Crypto Currency. She said: We had amassed quite a large amount of money.

The husband said that all the investment was made with his salary.

Asked by Judge Gabbett about the amount of cryptocurrency involved, the woman replied that we were talking about over 500,000.

The woman said the Crypto Currency investment involved 6.6 Bitcoin, which she says alone is currently probably worth 250,000.

She said: There is a colossal amount of Dogecoin that was worth nothing when we bought it, but is now also worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

She added: There’s Bitcoin money, there’s Litecoin – all of them have considerable value – there’s 70,000 to 80,000 in Litecoin.

The woman said: In addition, I had considerable investments in gold and silver bullion which were physically held in a safe deposit box in Switzerland. This chest was frozen to me because of his activities.

Both the man and the woman have claimed and counterclaimed that they had each put cryptocurrency out of each other’s hands pending the outcome of the divorce proceedings.

The woman said: “I’m stuck in legal battles in three countries with no resources. Judge Gabbett said it would be up to another judge to decide who gets what in the divorce settlement.

The woman told the court: I’m not here because I like being here. I’m here because I’m really scared. I am a real fear for myself, I am a real fear for my child. I never thought I would live penniless.”

The woman said she never thought she would have to install security cameras in her home.

The man said he had never stalked his ex-wife and agreed his case was that his ex-wife shouldn’t be afraid of him because there is nothing to worry about.

The woman made allegations of constant gaslighting, coercion, isolation, financial control by her ex-husband and in evidence he denied all these allegations.

Judge Gabbett ordered the man to have access to the couple’s child while in Ireland.
