A LIV golf club has secured crypto sponsorship for the remainder of its 2023 season.

OKX, a global cryptocurrency and derivatives exchange platform, announced on Wednesday that it has signed an endorsement deal with Majesticks GC. The club are a Europe-focused team with LIV featuring Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood, Sam Horsfield (currently injured) and Laurie Canter. According to a press release, OKX, Majesticks GC and LIV Golf share a common desire to disrupt industries using new ideas and technologies.

The Majesticks are currently second-to-last in the LIV Golfs team rankings, and Stenson is the highest-ranked player (25th) in the 52-man individual rankings.

The announcement comes two weeks after the shocking news that backer of the PGA Tour and LIV Golfs, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, announced a planned partnership to form a new entity. LIV Golf was dropped from the initial tour and PIF press release, questioning what role LIV will have in the new entity, and PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said he does not envision that LIV Golf events are happening concurrently with the tour events in 2024.

However, LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman, who was only made aware of the proposed deal minutes before it was announced, told LIV Golf staff and players that LIV Golf is not going anywhere and is staying. in the planning stages for future seasons.

LIV Golf is halfway through its second season, with seven more events on its schedule. The next event will take place in Spain, starting June 30.
