Crypto PAC hit with robocall lawsuit backing pro-crypto candidates

The Crypto Freedom PAC is facing a lawsuit alleging it violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, or TCPA.

The plaintiff in the lawsuit alleges that he was prejudiced by these calls. He was temporarily deprived of the legitimate use of his phone and his privacy was unduly invaded.

He was also charged for the calls which hurt the plaintiff because they were frustrating, obnoxious, annoying and embarrassing, and disturbed the plaintiff’s loneliness.

The lawsuit also alleges that the PAC used an automatic telephone dialing system (ATDS). In a recent Third Circuit case, the court ruled that Congress passed the TCPA ATDS to address issues with auto-dial and that Congress found auto-dial technology to be particularly harmful.

The TCPA was enacted in 1991 and is intended to restrict both telemarketing calls and artificial or pre-recorded voice messages.

In the TCPA, plaintiff alleges that the PAC violated TCPA 47 US 227, which clarifies that calls using pre-recorded or artificial voice cannot be used to transmit a message to the recipient without the prior consent of the party receiving the call. .

According to its website, the Crypto Freedom PAC aims to elect candidates who will fight for crypto freedom and crack down on any overuse of digital assets by the government.

Specifically, in this upcoming election, the PAC is backing candidates who can topple anti-crypto Democrats such as Elizabeth Warren and Sherrod Brown.

He names three pro-crypto candidates, North Carolinas Ted Budd, Arizonas Blake Masters and Nevadas Adam Laxalt, all of whom are running as Republicans.

Crypto is set to become a priority in the upcoming election as crypto regulation threatens the United States.

Candidates including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and President Joe Biden have previously discussed digital assets.

Kennedy Jr. tweeted last month that it’s a mistake for the US government to stifle industry and spur innovation elsewhere. Bidens has proposed a 30% tax on cryptocurrency mining is a bad idea.

Meanwhile, Biden has said the United States can strengthen American leadership in the global financial system.
