Crypto creep. OKX adds Man City round to club assets

July 1 Crypto Exchange OKX expanded its sponsorship of Manchester City to include the left sleeve of the men’s and women’s first teams.

Since March 2022, OKX has partnered with Man City, expanding for the first time in July 2022 to become the clubs official training kit partner for the 2022/23 season. It is designated as the club’s official cryptocurrency partner.

OKX will have a mix of digital and physical assets across media channels and stadium positions. This will see the crypto giant continue with promotions like the Web3 collective OKX through which fans can interact with Cityplayers and OKX ambassadors like Jack Grealish and Alex Greenwood.

Described as a multi-year deal, the club said they introduced the brand to millions of football fans around the world.

We’ve already seen some great Web3 experiences designed by OKX for Manchester City’s global fan base and there will be many more to come. It’s a very exciting partnership.

No value was given for the partnership which focuses on the role of Web3 technology in fan engagement, and how it can create captivating and immersive experiences for fans.

Manchester City was our first official partnership with a global brand and in just a year and a half we have come a long way. It was always our intention to fit in with the sport and help the club lean into Web3. Fifteen months later, we now have a metaverse, an NFT initiative, and a number of other new projects that we’re excited about.
