This isn’t the first time Drake has given bread to Kodak via Bitcoin. In 2022, Kodak Black revealed during an interview with The Breakfast Club that Drake pushed him to get a bitcoin wallet and sent him $300,000 worth of virtual currency for no reason.
“Drake and I talk a lot behind the scenes and shit,” he said. “I don’t tell anybody, but the other week this nigga sent me a quarter of a million dollars for no reason. My brother Lance and I were in the car and this nigga texted me like, ‘You got bitcoin?’ I was like, ‘Nah.’ It was like, ‘Set up a bitcoin wallet.’ So I put two and two together, that’s four!”
Kodak added: “He was like, ‘Yeah man, make sure the email is correct and the numbers are correct when I send it.’ I’m like, “Send it?! Nah, wait boy, what are you gonna do? What you gon’ do?” Fucking nigga sent me 6.6 pieces, and at the time that shit was about $32,000 a piece.”
“Damn, and then over time these coins went up to about 40 bands a coin. So this shit happened, and it’s really like $300,000 in my bitcoin wallet right now.”
