Crypto.news – Bitcoin’s (BTC) historic achievement of 800,000 mining block marks a pivotal moment in the major cryptocurrency’s journey.

This milestone means that Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoin has achieved 867 million successful transactions since its first block as the network nears its fourth halving event.

Bitcoin (BTC), the pioneering digital currency, has reached a milestone by mining the 800,000th block.

The 800,000 block means 867 million confirmed transactions, or an average of 1,084 transactions per block, all securely stored in a compact 497 GB blockchain.

Bitcoin halving and expert predictions/h2

The mining of block 800,000 drew attention to Bitcoin’s fourth halving event.

The halving process is gradually reducing the rate at which new BTC is issued, further fueling Bitcoin’s scarcity and setting it apart from traditional hyperinflation-prone fiat currencies. This event is expected to occur in approximately the next 40,000 blocks or approximately 9 months.

Various experts have offered various predictions for the future price projection of Bitcoin. Earlier this month, Standard Chartered (OTC:SCBFF) raised its Bitcoin price forecast, predicting that the digital asset will hit $120,000 by the end of 2024.

On the other hand, venture capitalist Tim Draper remains bullish on Bitcoin’s upside potential, envisioning a price of $250,000 for the digital asset by June 2025 after initially predicting that milestone would be reached in 2022.

Bitcoin Price Analysis /h2

The current price of Bitcoin (BTC) at $29,177 reflects the recent struggles the cryptocurrency has faced in maintaining its position around $30,000.

This comes after hitting a high of $31,800 on July 13, which was partly driven by anticipation surrounding Bitcoin ETF filings and Ripple’s partial SEC legal victory.

However, the price decline of 2.97% in the last 24 hours and a decline of 3.19% in the last seven days indicate a certain level of market uncertainty and downside potential.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) value on the weekly time frame at 53.25 suggests that Bitcoin’s price is not heavily overbought or oversold, but rather is hovering around a neutral zone, indicating a potential balance between buyers and sellers.

As the closest support on the daily timeframe sits at $28,000, this level may provide a potential floor for further short-term downward moves. On the other hand, the current resistance at $30,000 is now acting as a resistance for the bulls trying to push the price higher.
