Paradigm is a builder group that supports other builders.
Some of our most successful collaborations involve working extensively with entrepreneurial teams to solve important business and research problems. Sometimes an entrepreneur comes up with the idea, other times we do. Either way, we love the process of mind-melding and completing a project.
Some examples :
Uniswap had only recently launched when Hayden Adams came to present Paradigm in 2019. We had the chance to lead the Uniswaps round, and Dan Robinson has poured a lot of his brain into thinking about Uniswap ever since, including contributing Uniswap v2, v3, v4, and UniswapX.
Flashbots began as a group chat started by Tina Zhen and Phil Daian with a loose collection of crypto-curious people from MEV, including Charlie Noyes, Georgios Konstantopoulos, and samczsun from the Paradigm team. The group chat turned into a business, and Paradigm was happy to help the Flashbots team train and fund their projects. Its been a fascinating journey through the dark forest.
Conduit was born out of a collaboration between Paradigm resident entrepreneur Andrew Huang and Georgios Konstantopoulos. Georgios and other members of the Paradigm team had thought of an infrastructure to support a rollup-centric multi-channel world. Meanwhile, Andrew was thinking of ways to apply his Web2 infrastructure experiences to cryptography. A few months into Andrews’ residency with Paradigm, Conduit was born.
There’s no shortage of great people working in crypto, and we’d love to partner with more of them.
We currently have the bandwidth to support 3-5 new deep collaborations.
You will work closely with Paradigm’s investment and research teams, in addition to support from our talent, legal/policy, design, go-to-market, and data teams.
You can be pre-idea (as an entrepreneur-in-residence) or more advanced at the seed or Series A stage.
You can contribute your own idea, or collaborate on one of ours.
Some areas we explored:
Intent-Centered Protocols and Infra
Hooks above Uniswap v4 (especially those that focus on LP profitability and loss rebalancing vs. rebalancing)
Infra for a rollup-centric multi-channel world
Shared sequencers
Onchain games (something we would love to play)
Crypto-native social apps
Prediction markets (create markets with real liquidity)
Stablecoin/fintech payments (as stablecoins mature and banking becomes more troublesome)
On-chain treasuries (a natural step after stablecoins and before other real-world assets)
ZKP applications (there is a ZKP capability overhang: science is ahead of applied research, which is ahead of applications)
