Bitcoin prices seem almost … stable

Despite its generally wild volatility, bitcoin has moved very little over the past seven days – in its own way, zigzagging.

Sunday night around 6:30 p.m. ET, the digital currency was in roughly the same place against the dollar it was a week earlier: $ 35,709.94

That leaves it flat over the past seven days, according to CoinGecko, and down about 0.5% in the past 24 hours.

However, the previous Sunday’s bitcoin topped $ 39,000 for a while, which was largely attributed to a Twitter response from Tesla’s Elon Musk (TSLA) – Get Report. It also topped 40,000 last week, but for the month the value is pretty much flat as it was around $ 34,473 on May 23 – well, stable for the coin which was valued at less than 10. $ 000 a year ago and over $ 64,000 in a peak in April.

As with other cryptos, Ethereum’s ETH fell slightly over the same period, hovering around $ 2,259.81 on Sunday. That’s a drop of 5% over the week and an increase of 2.6% in 24 hours.

Dogecoin saw the biggest drop during the week – nearly 10% – to 28 cents. That’s a 2.7% drop in the past 24 hours.

But the current value of bitcoin shows that it is struggling to rise or fall significantly over the past few weeks. It had fallen sharply in the months since peaking to date above $ 64,000 in mid-April.
