Pop pension
The UK managed to achieve the ‘near impossible’ in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with a double zero in the new voting system introduced in 2016.
Having finished at the bottom of the leaderboard in 2019 with just 11 points, we have at least shown consistency in our rankings.
But fear not, we could be there next year, as Money Alive’s Ian Beestin plans to reunite his group to give Eurovision viewers a taste of retirement pop, with “Enjoy Your Wealth.” -But First Make Time To Think!
Speaking to Twitter, Beestin said, “I can’t do worse, and people could learn a thing or two.”
He scored a point, although he may be hoping for “points of twelve” from at least one country.
This is if Bill Bailey does not enter first in his entry in 2022….
China and crypto
Crypto is the most loved or hated investment idea depending on your perspective and the month we are in. Theories abound as to how this will disrupt the central bank system.
British Steel’s renowned adviser Al Rush has an opinion on why some fear him, saying on Twitter: “China is cracking down on crypto… and boom. No wonder Western central banks are so nervous about this. Never have we seen savings suddenly evaporate or the financial situation of a nation so quickly manipulated ”
Others participated, including @Portsmouth BTC: “This is only the 1,000th time that China has ‘banned’ bitcoin…. Banks are nervous because the monetary system you’ve always known is on the verge of collapse and they don’t have long to deploy their CBDCs [central bank digital currency]… if they get there before #bitcoin is fully integrated globally.
We hope crypto doesn’t end the economy as we know it.

“Can you imagine if the supermarkets were like suppliers of traditional products? The frozen crisps would be in aisle one, peas in aisle 17, there would be a 19 page health warning to read before you could buy the crisps and only two crates would be opened at a time ‘

‘Groundhog Day…. I have seen over 100 “fit” reports – or is this just one fit report? “
Self-proclaimed 40-year-old financial services industry survivor and cash Andy Boyt may have seen one fit report too many.
“I heard a story yesterday about how an advisor from a well-known company came to see a customer in a chauffeured Rolls-Royce. Apparently they tried to sell an investment bond that they would pay £ 103,000 for, so £ 100,000 was invested. Like the 1980s – except it happened on Tuesday this week ”
Expert Wealth Management director Dom Spalding notes that an advisor seems to have taken a step back in time. Maybe they should have come to see the customer in a DeLorean?
