F1 reveals Crypto.com as sprint racing partner

Formula 1 has announced an agreement whereby the cryptocurrency platform Crypto.com will become a new global sponsor and main partner in its series of sprints in 2021.

The motorsport world series is expected to test a sprint qualifying format at three Grands Prix during the 2021 season, the results of which will determine the starting grid for Sunday’s races.

The first sprint qualifiers will take place during the British Grand Prix weekend on July 17, where the partnership with Crypto.com will be officially revealed.

Having become one of the series’ global partners, Crypto.com will also receive a trackside branding for the rest of Formula 1 2021.

Additionally, the deal sees Crypto.com named as Formula One’s official cryptocurrency and non-fungible token (NFT) partner. The company will also announce a new award, which will be unveiled ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix on August 27.

Aligning with Formula 1’s sustainability goals, Crypto.com also announced a plan to achieve carbon negativity in 18 months.
