Jesse Powell is reacting to Bitcoin’s boom in the markets after briefly falling below $ 30,000.

Bitcoin was trading more than 4% less Thursday morning.

The price was around $ 33,519 per coin, while rivals Ethereum and Dogecoin were trading at around $ 2,127 and 23 cents per coin, respectively, according to Coindesk.

Bitcoin has had a rollercoaster year so far, hitting a record high of just under $ 65,000 in April – and now halfway through the year, it’s up about 20% since the start of the year, according to Reuters.

The subject of El Salvador and Bitcoin remains hot. A senior U.S. diplomat said on Wednesday she hoped the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would strike a funding deal following the Central American country’s dramatic move to make bitcoin legal tender.

BITCOIN, CRYPTO-CURRENCIES INCREASE DESPITE BINANCE SNUB

President Nayib Bukele’s proposal to adopt cryptocurrency has already been approved by El Salvador’s Congress, making the country the first in the world to adopt bitcoin as legal tender on September 7.

Victoria Nuland, US Under Secretary for Political Affairs, met Bukele on Wednesday as part of her tour of the region, according to Reuters.

Salvadoran law means that bitcoin will be on a par with the US dollar, which became its official currency 20 years ago.

The country is in talks with the IMF for a financing deal of nearly $ 1 billion.

THE DEF ACCELERATES THE CRYPTO WORLD’S REPRESSION

In other cryptocurrency news, Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, said on Wednesday that its platform’s sterling withdrawals had been reactivated.

Users can purchase digital coins with debit and credit cards.

Clients of the exchange said on Tuesday they were unable to deposit or withdraw sterling from the platform, days after UK regulators cracked down on some of its activity in the country.

Binance users have said they cannot withdraw or deposit British pounds through the Faster Payments network – which allows mobile, internet and other payments between UK bank accounts – or bank cards.

A Binance spokesperson said withdrawals through the Faster Payments network were reactivated on Tuesday, adding that crypto purchases by bank card were once again possible.
