FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) – A Fort Wayne-based payment services company allows customers to buy, sell and hold the cryptocurrency known as bitcoin.
Allied Payment Network (Allied), which provides online and mobile digital payment services to community financial institutions, announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with NYDIG, a leading financial services and technology company dedicated to bitcoin.
The partnership allows financial institutions to offer their customers the ability to buy, sell and hold bitcoin. Allied is the first bill payment provider in the industry to integrate this service into its platform and offer it to financial institutions.
Bitcoin adoption increased 207% over the 10-year period starting in July 2010, according to a study by the Mercator 2021 advisory group. The partnership helps financial institutions meet this demand, while providing consumers with a secure alternative. and easy to use for transactions with unregulated bitcoin entities.
Consumers get seamless access to NYDIG’s secure and regulated platform for bitcoin when they log into financial institutions’ bill payment platform through online banking or the mobile app. Allied and NYDIG will also be working on additional capabilities such as the ability for consumers to make digital payments funded by bitcoin.
