The largest cryptocurrency has been stuck in a range of around $ 30,000 to $ 40,000 for weeks after hitting its all-time high of nearly $ 65,000. According to data from CoinDesk, Bitcoin was trading at around 3% below $ 33,245.7. Despite bitcoin’s struggles this year, the price of the world’s most popular cryptocurrency has risen by around 14% in 2021.
Ether, the second largest cryptocurrency by market cap, and dogecoin have fallen by more than 5% each in the past 24 hours to reach $ 2,023 and $ 0.20 respectively. Ether has hovered just above its 200-day moving average in recent sessions as the line appears to be offering support. Other digital coins like Cardano, XRP, Uniswap were also trading lower.
Investment products and cryptocurrency funds posted exits to start the second half of the year, as cautious sentiment persisted amid a summer lull, according to data from digital asset manager CoinShares released on Monday.
Crypto exits were $ 4 million in the week ended July 9, with bitcoin products posting the most exits of nearly $ 7 million during the quietest trading week since October 2020. exits came after a two-week series of entries, CoinShares said in its report.
The data showed that the hash rate, an indicator of mining activity, has recovered from a 55% drop from peak to trough to just 39%. If that holds up, Glassnode said it would suggest about a hash power equivalent of around 29% has come back online.
