Bitcoin drops below $ 30,000

Bitcoin fell below $ 30,000 for the first time in nearly a month. Tuesday’s painful 5.4% 24-hour loss contributed to a 10% seven-day drop, and as is normally the case, sales are even worse among altcoins. The drop in BTC may be linked to the fact that Grayscale Bitcoin Trust released a large chunk of the stock over the weekend. Read more.

Institutions still interested?

According to Fidelity Digital Assets, 70% of institutional investors expect to gain exposure to cryptocurrencies over the next five years. This could be done by buying BTC directly or by buying back the shares of a company in the industry. Fears of the digital yuan have risen

Three US senators are calling for US athletes to be banned from using the Chinese digital yuan at the Beijing Winter Olympics next year. This goes beyond concerns that it will allow the government “to know the exact details of what someone has bought and where”. OpenSea is a ‘Unicorn’ crypto

The NFT OpenSea marketplace closed a $ 100 million Series B round of funding. This means it now has a valuation of $ 1.5 billion and achieved “unicorn” status. Platform CEO Devin Finzer said, “We think NFTs are truly one of those paradigm shifts every two decades, which is incredibly exciting.” Find out more here.
