FIS’s financial technology player Worldpay has been selected by cryptocurrency platform OKCoin to provide global merchant acquisition and forex services.
The partnership will be able to support the company’s global expansion, which currently covers 190 countries. OKCoin is a global exchange that helps clients switch from crypto and fiat currency to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and over 25 other cryptocurrencies, as well as earn returns through staking on DeFi protocols. The exchange was looking for a proven and experienced partner to facilitate card-to-crypto payments for its global customers.
The exchange will use Worldpay’s global scale and currency exchange services, allowing customers to purchase crypto by credit and debit card. FIS processes more than $ 2 trillion in transactions per year in more than 100 countries in different payment types and currencies. The company recently announced several cryptocurrency-focused initiatives as part of its mission to advance the way the world pays, banks, and invests.
