Old Photo of Biden Motorcade Wrongly Described Online

Supporters of then -President Donald Trump lined the streets on Oct. 24, 2020, as the motorcade for Joe Biden, who was then the Democratic presidential nominee, headed to a campaign rally at Dallas High School in Dallas, Pennsylvania. Photo by Drew Angerer / Getty Images

His motorcade was greeted by part of a group of supporters of former President Donald Trump, while the lehighvalleylive.com document was recorded in photos.

But some are twisting the facts online by assuming a specific photo – showing Biden’s motorcade apparently engulfed by pro -Trump flags – was from the visit on July 28. It’s actually from October 2020, elsewhere in the state.

The photo in question was shared in a series of viral tweets and Facebook posts, which reached thousands of shares.

“Biden motorcade yesterday in Pennsylvania. See any of the 81 million Biden voters? I’m not either. #MAGA,” read a tweet.

A July 29 Facebook post from the “I Love My Freedom” page, which has been shared more than 4,000 times, posted the image overlaid with the text: “Biden visited Allentown, PA and see who appeared to greet him! “

A backward image search shows that the image in question was actually taken on October 24, 2020.

Getty Images indicates that the photo was taken as Biden, then the Democratic nominee for president, traveled to a high school for a campaign event in Dallas, Pennsylvania – about 70 miles from Macungie, where Biden was on July 28.
