Senator Ted Cruz has been accused of hypocrisy after saying Democrats have a bizarre case of horde thinking when it comes to following their leadership in congress and supporting CDC guidance.

On Monday, Mr. Cruz told Fox News host Sean Hannity about talks he had with Hawaiis Democratic Senator Brian Schatz about the potential lifting of CDCs mask mandate on planes.

In June, Mr. Schatz called for a so-called definition of the Senate resolution on masks, a non-binding fit to recommend a reconsideration of the policy. Mr. Cruz took it as a kind of chapter in congress, he told the Fox host.

Social media critics were quick to point out that Mr. Cruz is just as easy to say as having a herd mentality with the rest of the GOP for Donald Trump.

The former man called Ted a serial killer. His father was called a murderer. The wife was called ugly. And what did Ted do? He bowed, another Twitter user wrote.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Mr. Trump mercilessly attacked the Texas Senator, calling him Lyin Ted, insulting his wife’s appearance, and even hinting that his father was involved in the murder of John F Kennedy.

In response, Mr. Cruz branded Mr. Trump an utterly amoral, a sniveling coward, and a pathological liar, but eventually became a key ally in the defense of Mr. Trump’s impeachment and attempt to overthrow the 2020 election.

Mr. Cruz, far from a bad maverick who works with his party, is one of the most trusted Republican members of the Senate, ranking 89th out of 100 senators when it comes to bipartisanship, according to the Luger Center.

The GOP Senator from Texas also reiterated his opposition to the mask and vaccine mandate during an interview with Fox News, telling Mr. Hannity, My view is very simple. There should be no commands, zero, regarding covid. That means there is no mask order, regardless of your vaccine status. That means there is no vaccine mandate.

Texas is emerging as one of the centers of a resurgence of the coronavirus crisis, with governor Greg Abbott on Monday calling for volunteer out -of -state health workers to help its hospitals, which are struggling to keep up with the virus.
