I usually forgive politicians who are a bit out of character. It’s not the best thing they do, but see who’s asking for votes. While some citizens are armed with the facts necessary to make informed decisions, many more do not have a strict understanding of any of it.

Something that has really become a point of pride for some. Welcome ignorance seems to be a mark of authenticity for the terminally bollixed.

But then there are poles that cannonade porky pies, like the GOP flavor of the month for Cal Californiaias $ 276 million election recall, trash radios chatterbox infotainer, Larry Elder.

Here is an example. Larry, referred to on lawn signs in Huntington Beach as the Sage from South Central, was recently interviewed by The Hill. Done in hopes of distancing himself from Donald Trump, a fellow less popular in California. Elder expects to keep his trap closed.

Quoth Larry: I’m a Republican and Ive consistently voted Republican, so calling me a radio supporter who supports Trump is pretty unfair. The video from that interview makes the rounds on Twitter, accompanied by overly whimsical commentary. Why? A year ago you couldn’t separate the Elder from Trump with a crowbar.

In a column that ran last Halloween in newspapers across the country, Why Donald Trump deserves 4 years, Elder headed about the victimized media president:

Lost to pundits who hate President Donald Trump who weighed in on the second and final debate with former Vice President Joe Biden is Trump’s energy and focus. Just recovered male from COVID-19… Male and 74 years old, Trump is in the high-risk category. Her weight makes her comorbid. Larry said he supports a minimum wage, but only after declaring the best minimum wage to be $ 0. Some may straddle two such positions without pelvic dislocation.
