Letter to the Editor: Response

[ad_1]

TO THE EDITOR:

A recent letter to the editor was issued to SE Cupp and his column, which compared the riots on Jan. 6 to the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11. He cited the many deaths that occurred in that attack. . He was right, a lot of people died that day. And when it was over, the Americans came together as one. When Jan. 6 took place, many Americans on the right brushed it off. They tried to blame ANTIFA, or applaud the killing happening in their country’s capital. Five people were killed that day and 138 police officers were injured as Donald Trump sat and loved every minute of it. No one, not even his own daughter, could kill him.

He expressed great weariness, “well, George Floyd’s excitement is worse.” Perhaps But the riots in Floyd did not threaten our democracy and were not encouraged by the President of the United States. They are about social justice, not the rantings of an insane person.

The writer says there was no piracy or fire. I beg you to be different. They entered the Capitol and stole documents and computers. He said that no privately owned businesses were destroyed. True Only our democracy and way of life are in danger. The only ones who stopped these bandits from destroying it, were the brave men and women of the Capitol Police, who were insulted and called, “artists” rightly.

The writer then heads to fantasy land, accusing Nancy Pelosi and the Capitol Police of inviting the terrorist. What a crock. What purpose will that serve? Is he trying to hurt the President? Why? He has already lost the election. And where did you get that Pelosi bailed out members of ANTIFA and BLM? An American News?

If Donald Trump hadn’t acted like a spoiled child and accepted the election that everyone said was free and fair, he could go down in history as a decent President. But instead, because of his action on January 6th, chaos is his legacy. And I’ll make sure Americans don’t forget it.
