Donald Trump Presents Questionable Claims About 9/11 Involving 2 Large Firefighters

Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday made apparently a new claim about his involvement in the aftermath of the September 11 terror attacks.

Trump, whose imaginative “memories” of what happened during and after 9/11 have been repeatedly questioned, recounted in an interview with conservative network Newsmax about the time “two big firefighters” who moved him to safety amid fears of a nearby building about to collapse.

“We heard creaks, I never forgot it, I think the United States Steel Building it was called at the time, and it was 50 stories high, and we heard creaks,” he told the previously unimaginable story.

“I said,‘ That building is going down, ’and two big firefighters grabbed me, and took other people, and they just moved into that area,” Trump continued. “Never come down but, I haven’t heard any noise like that. And it’s a scary situation. But the work they did was incredible, the first to respond.”

On September 11, 2001, Trump falsely boasted in a TV interview that his 40th Wall Street building is the tallest today in downtown Manhattan.

“40 Wall Street is actually the second tallest building in downtown Manhattan, and it really, before the World Trade Center, was the tallest – and then, when they built the World Trade Center, it became known as the second tallest,” he said. “And now it’s the highest.”

Trump, who is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the attacks commented on a boxing match with his son Donald Trump Jr. for viewers paying $ 49.99, was also repeatedly told that he “spent a lot of time” with the first responders to Ground Zero and sent a 100-year staff to help with the cleanup. Both claims collapsed under investigation.

In 2015, there was no basis for Trump to claim at a campaign rally that he saw “thousands and thousands” of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating the attacks.

“I watched when the World Trade Center collapsed. And I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people cheered as that building came down,” he said. “Thousands of people are clapping.”

Those statements have been debunked as lies.
