Trump’s niece Mary L. Trump slammed the former president and two current governors in a CNN interview.

He said governors like Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis have no concern for human life or their constituents.

He also questioned why the former president was allowed to run in the election again.

Mary L. Trump, niece of former President Donald Trump, asked why she was allowed to run in the election and compared her to Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida, in an interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN.

Mary Trump acknowledged that President Joe Biden was responsible for the current response to COVID-19, but said that “we need to be clear that the reason we are in this area now is governors like DeSantis and Abbott, who seem to have no completely Concerned about their constituents, who are really of no value in human life, took their cues from Donald. “

Trump’s political brand – which embraces cultural wars, participates in name -calling, creates a cult of personality, and drives controversial policies – has been adopted by other GOP leaders.

Governor DeSantis, who is currently trying to ban mask mandates in schools, was endorsed by Trump in the 2018 GOP keynote and may have earned more respect from the GOP than the former president. Abbott, who recently enacted a strict anti -abortion law and also against mask mandates, was endorsed by Donald Trump for re -determination in 2022.

Mary Trump, author of her second book “The Reckoning,” told Cooper that Trump allows Republican leaders like DeSantis and Abbott to implement – or attempt to enforce – controversial policies.

“We have collaborated on an onslaught of attacks against immigrants, against people of color, against women, against American Democracy,” she said while discussing the trauma the country has endured – both recently and historically.

“One of the worst things Donald has done in the last four years has been to divide this country at a time when we need to unite – and that’s where COVID started,” he added.

“And it will take a very long time to recover from what we see because the people following him are making it impossible for us to get COVID.”
