An image of President Joe Biden with children wearing pro-Donald Trump costumes went viral.

The image was taken Sept. 11 during the president’s visit to the volunteer fire station in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, which responded to the crash of United Flight 93, as he marked the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The photo, which has been shared thousands of times on social media, shows Biden posing with a number of children, one of them wearing a red “Trump” hat while the other is wearing a blue hat that “Make America Great Again”.

A man also posed while wearing a t-shirt with an image of Trump and the words “I’ll be back”-a clear reference to the false claim that Trump could somehow be brought back to the White House because of the incorrect statement that 2020 the election was canceled.

Arizona Senator Wendy Rogers, one of those who often pushed the so -called “big lie” that Trump lost the election because of widespread voter fraud, was one of those who shared the image with the caption “#TrumpWon . “

A number of other winged personalities and websites have suggested that Biden may have been duped into posing with the children, or that he was unaware that they were wearing pro-Trump clothing.

Biden referred to the children while talking to reporters at the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Company about how he will continue to try to unite the country and reach those who still believe the false claim that the election is suspicious.

“I think the real issue for those kids who – there was just a photo taken – two of them have been wearing Trump hats since last year – I think, for them, it’s going to be: Will are we, in the next four, five, six, 10 years, showing that democracy can work, or not?

Biden added: “There are many autocrats who truly believe that democracies cannot work in the 21st century. Not a joke.

“They think because the world is changing fast and people are so divided, you can’t unite people in a democracy to get a consensus, and the only ones who can succeed are the autocrats.

“That’s why it’s such an important curse that we’ve shown – everyone said, ‘Biden, why do you keep trying to include the country?’ That’s the thing that will affect our well -being more than anything: how the rest of the world responds to us — knowing that we can actually, in fact, lead again to the example of our power. And I think we can do it. this. “

In a speech at Flight 93 National Memorial, former president George Bush praised the unity he saw immediately after the 9/11 attacks in 2001 as “I know America.”

Bush added: “At a time when there may be a free flow of religious bigotry, I have seen Americans reject discrimination and embrace people of the Muslim faith. That is the country I know.

“At a time when nativism can provoke hatred and violence against people considered outsiders, I have seen Americans reaffirm their acceptance of immigrants and refugees. That is the country I know.

“At a time when some viewed the emerging generation as individualistic and decadent, I saw young people embrace an ethic of service and rise to unselfish action. That’s the country I know.”
