Trump said Black Lives Matter Emboldened by ‘Incompetent’ Withdrawal From Afghanistan

Former President Donald Trump said the “incompetent” U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan has fueled foreign terrorists as well as the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.

“We are no longer respected after the tragic and incompetent departure from Afghanistan,” Trump wrote in a statement released Monday. “The Taliban has completely taken over Afghanistan – a stronger position than 20 years ago, after we spent trillions of dollars, with hundreds of thousands of lives lost (on both sides).”

“Our Country is more vulnerable to attack by outside terrorist groups than ever before,” the Trump statement added. “This loss inspires not only foreign terrorists, but also Antifa and BLM.”

Antifa refers to anti-fascist protesters opposed to police brutality and white supremacists, right-wing militias and other right-wing groups such as the Proud Boys.

Trump has repeatedly blamed Democratic President Joe Biden for the rocky U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

In an interview on Aug. 26 with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Trump said the Biden administration offered “zero resistance” to the Taliban after Biden became president.

Trump also criticized Biden for leaving U.S. military equipment in the region, threatening to fall under enemy control.

“I think it’s the worst act anyone has ever done, perhaps in the history of our country, to allow this to happen,” Trump said. “We’re like fools all over the world. We’re weak, we’re pitiful. We’re led by people who have no idea what they’re doing.”

On Aug. 14, Biden criticized the withdrawal agreements Trump made with Taliban officials during Trump’s presidency. Biden said Trump’s deal “left the Taliban in the strongest military position since 2001.”

During his presidency, Trump repeatedly made demonic comments on the BLM. The BLM is most associated with national racial justice protests against brutality against Black police and systematic racism.

On Sept. 8, Trump suggested that BLM activists were “anarchists, not protesters” and referred to them as “thugs” via Twitter. On June 30, Trump called a BLM street painting on New York City’s Fifth Avenue a “symbol of hatred.”

At a Sept. 25, 2020 “Blacks for Trump” rally in Atlanta, Georgia, Trump said the BLM movement was part of a “mob rule” that “destroys many Black lives.” He did not specify how “BLM is destroying many black lives.”

At the rally, Trump also made many other baseless claims about the BLM. First, he claimed that the “first phrase” of the national BLM movement was “Pork in a blanket, fry them like bacon.”

Although the phrase was uttered during a protest march in 2015 held by a BLM group in St. Louis. Paul, Minnesota, the group is not affiliated with the national BLM organization. The national BLM organization has never used the phrase, nor have there been other BLM groups, and the St. Louis group has never said it again. Paul, according to CNN.

Trump said, “The stated goal of the BLM organization, people, is to achieve the destruction of the nuclear family, the abolition of the police, the abolition of prisons, the abolition of border security, the abolition of capitalism, and the abolition of the choice of school – that’s their stated goal. “

None of those items are among the goals once stated on the BLM national organization’s website. The deleted “What We Believe” page from the website, which is still accessible through archive.org, does not contain the words “abolish,” “police,” “jails,” “border,” “capitalism” or “school.”
