Trump Declares US ‘Will Soon Be Considered A Third National Country’ Amid Border Crisis

Former President Donald Trump has declared that the U.S. will become a “Third World Nation” amid the ongoing immigration crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border.

“The United States will soon be considered a Third World Nation,” Trump said in a statement Monday. “There has never been anything like this happening at our Border. Millions of people have poured in, but many more to come!”

Trump’s statement echoed in a statement he made on Sunday, in which he said that “Our country is rapidly becoming a cesspool of humanity.” He also said that “murderers, drug dealers, and criminals” had immigrated to the U.S. from Haiti, as well as countries in South American and Africa.

Trump regularly claims that immigrants have harmed the U.S. economy and culture. He issued his latest comments as thousands of Haitian immigrants have recently arrived at the southern border of the United States seeking refuge.

Haitian immigrants began arriving after the assassination of the country’s president on July 7 and a 7.2 -magnitude earthquake on August 14. The quake killed nearly 2,200 people, injured more than 12,000, and may have destroyed or damaged more. in 100,000 homes.

The Biden administration combined deportation efforts as at least 14,000 migrants gathered Saturday in the border city of Del Rio, Texas. Border agents recently found babies abandoned at the border as well.

“We are extremely concerned that Haitians taking this irregular migration path are receiving false information that the border is open or temporary protected status is available,” U.S. Homeland Security Secretary of State said. Alejandro Mayorkas to reporters last week. “I want to make sure you know that this is not the way to get to the US. That is misinformation.”

Mayorkas also said his department will increase flights to Haiti to help reduce the number of immigrants and poor living conditions on the border.

On Monday, Republican governors from 26 states sent a letter to Biden requesting a meeting to discuss the southern border, something they called a “national security crisis.”

The letter said the “illegal crossing” has led to an increase in international criminal activity, and opened floodgates to human traffickers and drug smugglers who threaten public health and safety in our states. “

“A crisis that started on our southern border now extends to every state and requires immediate action before the situation worsens,” the governors claimed.

Every Republican governor, save for Phil Scott of Vermont, signed the letter.

Last weekend, a group of 50 congressional Democrats sent Mayorkas a letter discouraging the deportation of Haitian refugees.

“The Biden administration cannot claim that it is doing everything to support the Haitian community while continuing to unfairly deport Haitians as the island displays its worst political, health and economic crisis,” Massachusetts representative Ayanna Pressley , one of the leading letter writers. , said in a statement.
