Lawyers for former President Donald Trump have been working until late to overthrow President Biden’s victory, and this includes making their case against two Republican senators Lindsey Graham (SC) and Mike Lee (Utah), on days before Congress confirmed the results Jan. 6, according to Peril, the new book by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa. Graham and Lee listened carefully to the pitches from Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman, respectively, and still followed their own research. And finally, the details of the book, they are not impressed.

Giuliani on Jan. 2 was shown Graham by a computer whiz who said his statistical analysis showed Biden missing, Woodward and Costa report. Graham said he needed “some names” and “evidence,” so Giuliani returned two days later with several memos and affidavits claiming fraud.

Graham sent Giuliani memos to his Judiciary Committee chief counsel Lee Holmes, who “found laziness, the overly arrogant tone of certainty, and the inequalities that disqualified” and “reported to Graham that the data in the memos was a conspiracy, with a tone of intimidation and eighth -grade writing, ”the authors wrote. “Third grade,” Graham allegedly shot. “I can get an affidavit tomorrow saying the world is flat.”

Two days later, on Jan. 6, pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol. After the commotion, Graham told Trump from the Senate floor, “Count me. Enough. I tried to be helpful.” Graham “came back again, visited Trump in Mar-a-Lago, spoke to him regularly,” and said the GOP needed him, The Washington Post reports. “However, he continued to deliver criticism directly to Trump, according to the book. In a phone call this summer, he lamented Trump’s volatility and focus on voter fraud, telling the former president, ‘ You f — ed your president up. ‘Trump suddenly hanged him. “A Graham spokesman declined the Post’s request for comment.

Lee, who CNN called “one of the top Republican constitutional authorities,” was less impressed with Eastman’s six -point plan for Vice President Mike Pence to give Trump the election. “Lee’s head is spinning,” the authors wrote. “No such scheme exists in the Constitution, any law, or past practice. Eastman seems to have pulled it out of thin air.” Eastman spoke at the rally on Jan. 6 before the riot, and a week later, Chapman College of California announced his immediate retirement as law professor.
