Donald Trump has said that Mike’s Senate, one of his biggest allies, should be ashamed

SALT LAKE CITY Former President Donald Trump said Sens. Mike Lee and Lindsey Graham should have “embarrassed” themselves for not fighting harder to prove his false claims of election fraud.

In a statement Wednesday, Trump said he spent almost no time with Lee, R-Utah, and Graham, RS.C. talking about the “2020 Presidential Election Scam or, as many view, the ‘Crime of the Century.'”

“Lindsey and Mike should be ashamed of themselves for not putting in the necessary fight to win,” he said. “Look at the facts that come out in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and other States.”

Many states have conducted reviews of the results in 2020, despite no evidence of serious fraud that could change the outcome.

Trump’s comments came from a Washington Post story this week about the new book “Peril,” which describes the efforts of two senators to personally investigate Trump’s remarks about voter fraud as Congress prepared to prove Joe Biden’s success on January 6th.

The book, by Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward and national political reporter Robert Costa, focuses on the transition between the Trump and Biden administrations.

Graham and Lee, who both voted to verify election results, took fraud allegations seriously to explain in detail, involved their senior staff and called state officials across the country, the story said. But in private, Graham called, according to the book, the arguments appropriate for “third grade.”

Lee received a memorandum from former President Trump’s legal team last weekend before the Congress meeting to end the presidential election suggesting that seven states have decided or submitted a different slate of elections than they sent to Washington in December.

After getting the memo, Lee said he wanted to “get under it” and began calling state officials in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and Arizona, all swing states that Trump has lost. He said he found governors, attorney general, secretaries of state and legislative leaders in those states were unwilling or inclined to define or re -recognize their election votes.

“At that point, I believe we have reached the end of the process as it really is,” Lee told a hall on Jan. 27.

In the statement, Trump said, “If it was Schumer and the Democrats, with the evidence we have about Election Fraud (especially the newly presented evidence), they would never have voted to approve Biden as President, and if not , all the mistakes made last month, which are destroying our Country, will not happen.

“Mike Lee, Lindsey Graham, and all the other Republicans who don’t want to run for the Presidency of the United States, which includes at least an additional four Republican Senators, two in Georgia, one in Michigan, one in Arizona, letting Democrats get away with the greatest Election Hoax in history is a total job con! ”

Trump continues to claim he won the election through a “landslide” but has little support from the Republican leadership.

“They should be ashamed of themselves. Why don’t they have a hearing? Or even if only Republicans have open sessions in public, we can all hear unforgivable facts,” he said.

Trump falsely said the election was stolen from him and urged his supporters to march on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, the day Congress called to ratify the election. He forced former Vice President Mike Pence, who oversees the counting of election votes, to reverse the results and forced state officials to seek him out more votes.

Lee, who advised Trump about his legal challenge to the election results, said Trump’s inner circle has repeatedly told him that state lawmakers are acting to prove or re-recognize their slates of election votes.

“As we approach and approach January 6, I am worried because I don’t see any of these developments happening but I continue to hear this narrative,” he told town hall, adding that it was clear to make the news if this happens.

Lee also said he was even more surprised when Trump’s inner circle continued to argue that Congress could and would change the outcome of the election.

The senator said she previously explained to Trump, his White House staff, his campaign team and his lawyers that Congress’s only role is to count the votes unless a state submits a conflicting slate of votes. electoral.
