Donald William Barger, 76, of Accident, Maryland, formerly of Port Matilda and Sunbury, Pa.; And Cleveland, Ohio, died Saturday, October 2, 2021, at his residence.

Born on Feb. 23, 1945, in Bellefonte, Pa., Don was the son of Robert Lee and Marion Eleoise (Witherite) Barger of Port Matilda, Pa.; In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his daughter Carol Lynn Barger-Harvie of Naples, Fla.

Surviving siblings include Wendell Barger and wife Martha of Port Matilda, Leonard Barger and wife Alda, of McVeytown, Pa., Charity Barger of Port Matilda, and Robert Barger Jr. of State College, Pa..

Don is survived by his first wife, Patricia (Cramer) Barger of State College; of his faithful second wife, Lucia (Fitzgerald) Barger of Accident, Md .; of his sons, Ronald F. Barger of Tyrone, Pa. and Donald A. Barger and wife Lisa, of Northumberland, Pa.; of seven grandchildren, Nickolas B. Barger and wife Flavia of Bellefonte, Lindsey Tull and wife Jacob of Selinsgrove, Tye LW Bird and girlfriend Jen Jones of Port Matilda, Maggie M. Hollenbach and wife Garrett of Selinsgrove, Kelsey M .Barger of Rebersburg, Taryn P. Hudson and wife Cody of Morgantown, W.Va., and Trent W. Barger of Mifflinburg, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Don also survived three great -grandchildren, Nicole Barger, Boe Hollenbach and Beckett Hollenbach.

Don graduated from State College High School and also completed coursework at the Youth Challenge Bible Institute in Sunbury. He spent many years farming and descending Happy Valley with his father and siblings. Before retiring to Garrett County, Md., He worked 20 plus years and many long hours as a self -employed truck driver. Don was a jack of all trades and had many jobs including: fixing man for a trailer park, factory worker for Northrup Grumman in Cleveland, tile repairman for a chain of McDonald’s restaurants, snow plowing jobs for local businesses and neighbors, delivery of recreational vehicles (RVs) nationwide through most of the lower 48 states, corn seed salesman , firewood supplier, and backhoe talent operator. Don also had a unique talent for finding the right person to fix any mechanical problem he encountered with his backhoe, his two dump trucks or with his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Don enjoys the outdoors and lots of hunting stories and a collection of deer antlers to prove it. He is good at planting tomatoes, flowers and plants, and he enjoys walking in the woods on his mountain property with his dog companions Charlie Brown Eyes, Toby Tyler and Sam Adams. Don quietly exercised his faith by reading the Bible, watching TV sermons and listening to Christian music as he slept each night. He will be missed by everyone who knows him.

Family and friends attended a funeral at the Celebration of Life at Pine Hall Cemetery in Pine Hall, Pa on Oct. 6. The visit before the service was private.
