Former White House trade adviser Peter Navarro referred to Dr. Anthony Fauci as “evil.”

In the interview, he claimed that he had twice asked former President Donald Trump to remove Fauci.

Navarro said he would not blame Trump for not firing Fauci but added that it was a “mistake for the republic.”

Ex-White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said he asked former President Donald Trump on at least two occasions to remove Dr. Anthony Fauci, he said in an interview on The Jason Rantz Show.

Navarro, who discusses his new book, “In Trump Time,” said the media praised the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases as a “godly” figure, Fox News reported.

The former trade adviser, on the other hand, had a less favorable assessment of Fauci. “That guy is bad,” he said in an interview Wednesday. “Don’t get me wrong about it. He’s bad.”

After disagreeing about the imposition of travel bans, Navarro recalled how he once ended up in a “scream of scream” within three minutes of meeting Fauci.

“I went out there thinking,‘ Wow, that guy thinks he’s smarter than him, ’” Navarro said. “Above all, ‘That person and the president hurt us.'”

The former commodity adviser said he asked Trump, at least twice, to remove Fauci. He added that he did not blame the former president for not accepting his advice but referred to it as a “mistake for the republic.”

Trump and Fauci have a history of sparring with each other, Insider Bryan Metzger reported. Fauci has often countered the former president’s optimistic analysis of the pandemic state, while Trump called Fauci a “disaster.”

In November 2020, Trump proposed that he planned to remove Fauci after Election Day.
