Donald Sonnenborn is co-chair of the Real Estate Practice Group firms. He has advised major U.S. builders as well as landlords and tenants on office, commercial and retail property, from acquisition, finance, management and rental through disposition.

With clients that include some of the largest commercial landlords, property owners, prominent developers, national and international retailers, and financial services companies, Donald is good at negotiating large leases for to both landlords and tenants, helping his clients secure assets, manage risks and restructure chaotic leases. He has overseen many of New York City’s latest rental deals involving iconic office buildings and offices such as Rockefeller Center, the MetLife Building, the Chrysler Center and many more. In addition, he handled the lease of major new developments including Hudson Yards and Jackson Park.

Expert is versed in the unique issues involved in leasing to international tenants and those with sovereign immunity, and has experience in resolving financial and corporate finance issues that arise in commercial and retail acquisitions and dispositions. Major builders also turned to him to represent them in developing a joint venture for real estate acquisition and development.
