The Rev. Donald Silas Frank Dykes The Rev. Donald Silas Frank Dykes, 71, of Princeton, WV, died on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born June 10, 1950, in Bishop, WV, he was the son of the late William and Eva Dykes. He graduated in 1968 from Big Creek High School, War, WV. He received his Bachelor’s degree in ministry from Winston-Salem Bible College. He also attended and graduated from Cincinnati Bible Seminary, with a Master’s degree in Theology. He was then given the opportunity to teach Theology at Winston-Salem Bible College. Donald is a member of the Big Creek and Sandy River Association and the writer and composer of The Dykes Family ensemble as well as a musician for numerous choirs throughout the Big Creek District. Donald loved to preach and began his preaching career at the age of 16. During his lifetime, he had the opportunity to pastor many churches. From 2019 until the time of his passing, he pastored Midway Church of Christ DOC, Tazewell, VA. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; siblings, Preacher Robert Dykes, Minister William Dykes, Harold Dykes, Douglas Dykes, and his twin Ronald Dykes; two sisters Diana Crawley and Tina Robinson; and mother -in -law, Patricia Crosier. Left to cherish his memories, his wife of 28 years Regina Dykes of the house; children, Donzwella Dykes-Brown (Darryl), Winston-Salem, NC, Marcella Woods (Leon), Elgin, SC, Donald AC Dykes, Winston Salem, NC, Takais Crosier, Princeton, WV, Indonesia Price (Joshua), Duquesne , PA, Marques Dykes, Beckley, WV; siblings, Mary Ann Dykes Harris, and Doris Dykes Russell (Terra), Raymond Dykes (Charlotte), and Kenneth Dykes (Charlene); sister -in -law, Tammy Garnett (Jesse), brother -in -law, James W. Crosier (Marla), father -in -law, Rev. James A. Crosier; grandchildren: Micaiah Spruill (Briana), Donte Dykes, Takais Crosier Jr., Neige Price, Jay’Ceon Crosier, and JyMauri Price; special nieces, Mary Dykes, Anastasia Crosier and April Mott and a host of other relatives and friends. A homecoming service for the Reverend Donald Dykes will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Elder Marvin Lockett presiding. In respect of Donald’s requests, he will be cremated after the service. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
