Donald Trump Rips Fox News For Releasing Anti-Trump Ads

Former President Donald Trump broke Fox News on Sunday, claiming the network “continues to be allowed[s] horrible and untrue advertisements against Trump to run. “

“What good is it if FOX News speaks well of me when they continue to allow it to run horrible and untrue anti-Trump ads-and many of them,” Trump said in a statement. “In the good old days, that didn’t happen and now it always happens.”

He went on to complain about the “forces” working against him.

“The Rating-challenged by CNN and MSNBC will never run a positive Trump ad — never,” he said. “With the amount of forces against us, Big Tech, the Fake News Media, the Radical Left, the RINOs, and more, we’re at a disadvantage, but we’re still going to win!”

In February, POLITICO reported that the anti-Trump Republican Accountability Project, would run ads on Fox News in favor of GOP lawmakers who impeached Trump and defeated his most loyal supporters in office. Other anti-Trump groups have bought airtime in specific local Fox News markets with the stated intent to provoke reaction from the former president.

And MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell complained over the summer that Fox News wouldn’t air a commercial promoting its three-day “cyber symposium” about how the election was rigged (it wasn’t). He temporarily suspended MyPillow advertising as a result, but until late September, the pillow company’s ads returned to the network.

Mediaite can’t determine what specific ad might have triggered Trump’s complaint, so it’s not possible to determine how “false” or “anti-Trump” the ad might have been.

UPDATE 8:35 pm ET: Lincoln Project founder Rick Wilson told Mediaite he’s not sure if the ad is from his group or not, but cited the anti-Trump PAC’s long-running strategy in targeting Trump with local cable ad purchases and confirming they have a current purchase.

“We always run ads on Fox News on the Bedminster and Mar-a-Lago area cable,” Wilson said, “because it’s a central part of our‘ an audience ’strategy and as you can see, it’s effective. Now, I don’t know if he’s talking about one of our ads – other people have followed us in this technique – but we’re its OGs. “

UPDATE 10:15 pm ET: PAC MeidasTouch has claimed responsibility for the ad that got under Trump’s skin, writing in a tweet on Sunday that “we just broke Trump.”

“We didn’t think we could destroy him more than we already have,” MeidasTouch wrote. “But we did. Then we put our ad on the air in Mar-A-Lago embarrassing him for not going to Virginia. He wanted to go bad.”

The group shared an ad video, in which Trump was mocked for not being part of the Virginia gubernatorial election.

“Donald why are you afraid to go to Virginia?” says the ad. “Is it because you know Glenn Youngkin has nothing to do with you? Or because your loser stench rubs off everything you touch?”

“If you’re not too weak or scared or bathed, you’ll get to Virginia quickly,” the ad said later, and called him a “coward.”

Meidas co-founder Ben Meiselas said anti-Trump ads ran in the Mar-a-Lago market last week.

Meidas ran ads this past week in the Mar-a-Lago market on Fox calling Trump a chicken poop for not showing his face in Virginia. Trump responded. Lol. https://t.co/DtJGxXwoJB
