Donald Trump Jr. robocalled. for NYC candidate Inna Vernikov

Donald Trump Jr. taped. of a robocall urging thousands of southern Brooklyn residents to support Republican candidate Inna Vernikov in a hotly contested City Council career.

Vernikov, 37, a pro-Trump lawyer and Ukrainian native, is facing off against Democrat Steve Saperstein in the 48th Council District to replace ex-Councilman Chaim Deutsch, who forfeited his seat earlier this year when he was convicted of tax fraud.

The district includes many Russian -speaking and Jewish immigrants in the communities of Brighton Beach, Manhattan Beach, Sheepshead Bay and Homecrest.

“It’s very important that we elect Inna Vernikov to the New York City Council because Inna stands for full police funding, jobs, and a strong economy and puts our country first,” Trump Jr. said. in a 30-second recorded call to voters.

Democrats have a huge advantage in enrolling Republicans in the district. But former President Donald Trump easily brought the district over President Biden. Many of the district’s moderate-to-conservative Democrats have crossed party lines and supported Trump.

“It’s a tremendous honor for me to have the endorsement of Donald Trump Jr. For me, it equals the support of President Donald Trump and his entire family,” Vernikov told The Post.

“President Trump is a patriot who has rebuilt our economy, achieved record low unemployment across all demographics, created opportunity, and made peace in the Middle East a reality. When I am on city council, I will try implement similar ideas at the local level. ”

Saperstein, a special education teacher, prides itself on supporting city law enforcement and other public employee unions.

The election is Tuesday, but New Yorkers also have the opportunity to vote early through Sunday.
