V. Donald Hartnett
91 of Johnstown died Nov. 9, 2021, in Westmont Woods. Born August 19, 1930, in Johnstown the son of Vincent E. and Irene E. (Siehl) Hartnett. Prior to the death of the parents, wife Rosalyn (Smith) Hartnett, son Karen Spencer, son Patrick Donald Hartnett, brother Dr. Robert Hartnett, and sister Barbara Griffin. Surviving are grandchildren Justin (Mona) Spencer, Hannah, and Hunter Hartnett, and son -in -law Rick Spencer. Don is a Marine Corps Veteran serving in the Korean War as a Staff Sgt. Don attended the University of Maryland on a Wrestling Scholarship. He is a retired public-school principal for Garfield High School with 36 years of service in the Greater Johnstown School District. Don wrestled for the Marines and later coached and officiated fights for the Greater Johnstown School District. His last active wrestling was in 1978 where he wrestled for the Old Time Wrestlers Tournament and won at the age of 49. No watching at his request.
