NEWTON FALLS – Donald F. “Papa” Keefer, 70, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021.

He was born Dec. 12, 1950, in Ripley, W.Va., to Elvin and Frieda Keefer.

He graduated from Ripley High School.

On September 15, 1970, Donald married his beloved Theresa Keefer. They enjoyed 50 years of togetherness and he was committed to her until her death in 2020.

He worked at Anchor Motor Freight as a diesel mechanic for 30 years and retired at age 49.

He spent the next 21 years doing everything he enjoyed. He has traveled extensively visiting all 50 states with Theresa. Some of his favorite things include gardening, watching FOX News, hunting and just being in West Virginia, working on everyone’s cars in his garage, camping, smoking and drinking beer with friends. She loves to tell stories and share her words of wisdom with anyone she knows.

Her grandchildren and great -grandchildren are her greatest joy. They can do nothing wrong in his sight and he is their champion in everything.

Donald’s cherished memories will be carried by his beloved family, children, Brian Keefer and Shelly (Daryl) Ginter; grandchildren, Alexis (Greg) Pecorelli, Callie Ginter and Delaney Ginter, his bonus grandchildren, Keaghan O’Connor and Michelle DeMarco; great -grandchildren, Sophia and Niko Pecorelli, Jaxin Stout and Kai and Kalani Ginter; his siblings, Ronald (Nina) Keefer, Denis (Mary) Keefer, Loren (Shirley) Keefer, Raymond (Stacey) Keefer, Faye Palmer, Eileen (Chuck) Benson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; his parents; her granddaughter, Breanna Ginter; and his siblings, George Keefer, Jim Keefer and Margaret King.

According to his wishes cremation took place and there were no services.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls.
