Trump Actively Seeks Vengeful ouster of GOP Gov. To Ivey of Alabama

Former President Donald Trump has revenge against Alabama Gov. To Ivey and he is trying to woo a Republican to oppose his run for re-election, all because the former president blames Ivey for canceling one of his scheduled rallies in his state this summer.

Although Trump’s “Freedom Rally” planned for July 3 at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile was canceled by the Battleship Commission that oversees the park and not by the governor, the former president is personally responsible for Ivey. Trump “privately blamed” Ivey for the cancellation, The Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday, and now his heart is set on revenge.

In an effort to get revenge on Ivey, Trump spoke with Lynda Blanchard, who has served as an ambassador in his administration and is currently running for the U.S. Senate in Alabama. He’s trying to convince Blanchard to run as governor against Ivey instead, Trump’s advisers told The Journal.

But Trump’s anger against Ivey could be the wrong place. AL.com reported that the park commission was concerned that Trump’s rally could be considered a “partisan” event, which could violate Alabama state law if they hosted it. According to Bill Tunnell, the commission chairman who spoke to AL.com, the commission also had concerns that the event would be public, but they may be open to hosting a private event with Trump, but not a public event.

Ivey, on the other hand, remained a Trump supporter. In late July, he wrote an op-ed in The Washington Post titled “The Trump administration has given us the best weapons against covid-19. We must use them.” He also recently met Trump pal, conspiracy theorist and MyPillow guy Mike Lindell. But that kiss doesn’t seem to have done much to bring him back to Trump’s good grace if he’s still pushing a Republican opponent to challenge him.
