Trump said his administration was set to retreat without death and all U.S. equipment was preserved

Former U.S. president Donald Trump condemned the management of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in an interview on Sunday.

The ex-commander-in-chief said the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the state was “the single most embarrassing moment in our nation’s history,” on the Fox News show Life, Liberty & Levin.

He said his administration was “set to withdraw with dignity and enormous force” from Afghanistan.

“No one is going to be killed. We’re not leaving $ 85 billion; we’re not leaving 10 cents,” the former president told Fox News.

“I said, ‘Every bolt, every screw, every nail comes out.'”

Many equipment, formerly owned by the U.S. military, fell into the hands of Taliban forces following the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

On Sunday last week, the militant Islamist faction staged a military parade in Kabul, featuring captured American -made armored vehicles and weapons.

In the interview, Trump also slammed the recent rise in U.S. gas prices, an increase he attributed to the new administration of U.S. President Joe Biden.

“You see, when I left, gasoline was a dollar and 87 cents, that was a year ago!” Trump explained to Fox News, adding that “I guess so, I said all these things were going to happen.”
