Donald Trump is proud that ambitious Republicans are “begging” to be chosen as his running-mate in 2024 as he prepares for the fourth tilt at the White House.
Trump appears to be planning to stand up again but this has not yet been confirmed, making it confusing for those who have their own presidential dreams and seek to inherit his support base.
After arguing with Mike Pence, his vice president for four years, over his certification of Joe Biden’s election victory, Trump is said to be looking for a trustworthy partner and putting a premium on loyalty. That means backing up his false statements that deceived the 2020 election, as well as avoiding his role in the unrest at the U.S. Capitol.
