Donald E. (Donnie) Fischer, age 62, of Williamsport, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, surrounded by family. He and his wife, Karen C. (Maneval) Fischer, recently celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on June 18th.
Born on Feb. 8, 1959, in Williamsport, he was the son of Donald L. Fischer of Williamsport, and of the late Joan L. (Stopper) Fischer, who died Feb. 23, 2021. Donald graduated from Bishop Neumann High School, where he plays basketball. After graduation, Donald remained at Neumann basketball as a scorekeeper for JV and Varsity teams. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, playing cards with his family and going to his children’s softball and baseball games. Donald is a lifelong member of the Harmonia Club in Williamsport. He has worked in banking for more than 34 years, beginning his career at former Fidelity National Bank.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Karen, and his father, Donald L., are his daughter, Samantha C. (Jon) Rummel of Knoxville, Tenn .; his son, Tylor L. Fischer of Nashville, Tenn .; two brothers, Michael (Charlene) Fischer of Williamsport, Gregg (Charlene) Fischer of Trout Run; two sisters, Cathy (James) Pruey of Williamsport, Paula (Mark) Confer of Newberry; and some nephews.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at exactly 11 a.m. at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, of the Rev. Fr. William C. Corcoran, pastor of St. Boniface Church, who will officiate. The funeral will be private for the convenience of the family. The visit is on Saturday from 9 to 11 p.m.
