Donald Arthur Erickson (Don) was born on June 9, 1930 in Ballard, WA to Hugo and Lillian (Nasmark) Erickson and was called Home on November 20, 2020.
He grew up on the family farm in Vashon Island, WA and graduated from Vashon High School. He is a USAF veteran and served during the Korean War. Don had a curious mind that led him to pursue a career in engineering after he proudly graduated from the University of Washington.
He spent some time in California, designed and built a beautiful home in Vashon, flew his Cessna 172 N35359 across the Pacific Northwest, operated the Alcan Highway to live in Fairbanks and eventually retired to Montana.
In 2001 he married Diane (Barr) and they made Kalispell their home. He was an engineering engineer and fond of building, playing golf, games, playing Dirty Rat, pretending to be his VW bug and camper, gardening, designing, calculating, but most of all he loved being the only father of his children that Hans and Jenny!
A plate of hardtack with pickled herring always brings a smile to her face. He sorely misses his brother Frank (Patricia) and sister Marion (Tom) who preceded him in death along with their parents. He is survived by his wife Diane, sister Arleen (Jack) Lundin, son Hans (Arden) Erickson, daughter Jennifer (Des) Policani and step-children Scott, Tyrone and Trevor Barr. Uncle Don will miss his nephews!
The family would like to thank the wonderful Kalispell Regional Medical Center Covid team for attending and caring for Don.
