Parham caught two of his four targets within three yards in Sunday’s 41-22 win against the Bengals.
Parham recorded his second straight game with less than 10 receiving yards and was on the field for a season-low 16 offensive snaps. Although the Chargers gave Parham additional chances recently in the struggle of starter Jared Cook, the 6-foot-8 target failed to produce for the second straight game. Even in the red zone, an area that according to Parham’s theory should be great, Charger looked instead to Keenan Allen (who scored twice) and headed back Austin Ekeler. If this game proves to be an indication of the Chargers ’offensive technique around the goal line going forward, the prospects are bleak for Parham and Cook to make equal use in this area of the field.
