STRUTHERS – Donald Thomas Morell Sr., 86, passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday morning, Dec. 16, 2021. He was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a lifelong resident of Struthers.

Donald was born to Peter and Esther Morell on September 3, 1935. After graduating from Struthers High School, Donald worked as a truck driver and then at steel mills in Youngstown.

He met his beloved wife, Mary, at a dance hall in Struthers. They were married on July 28, 1956.

Donald loves spending time with his family, gardening, storytelling and watching football and NASCAR every Sunday. An active hunter and fisherman, Donald owns a hunting cabin in Pennsylvania and spends a lot of time there with friends and family. He loved being outdoors and worked at Countryside Farm after he retired from the steel mills.

Donald left his wife, the former Mary Fabry; four children, Peter (Judi Armile), Donald Jr. (Diane Walcott), Joan and Toni (Tom Root); 10 apo; three great -grandchildren; and a brother, Robert.

A daughter, Catherine, preceded her in death in December 2017. She was also preceded by her parents, Peter and Esther Morell; and a sister, Alice Morell.

Friends will be received 4 to 6 pm Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021, at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. A prayer service will be held at 9:15 am Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, at the funeral home, followed by a Christian burial Mass at 10 am, at Christ Our Savior Parish in St. Louis. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Martin Celuch was officiating.
