Trump visits Dallas Sunday to attend First Baptist Church, meet in the arena with Bill O’Reilly

Former President Donald Trump spends the Sunday before Christmas in Dallas, showing up at the American Airlines Center with former Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly and attending services at First Baptist Church Dallas.

Trump was on “The History Tour” with O’Reilly in Sunrise and Orlando, Fla., Earlier this month and in Houston at the Toyota Center Saturday night. The Dallas event is set for 3 p.m. at the American Airlines Center. Ticketmaster only listed a few dozen seats available on Saturday, priced at $ 106 and $ 206.

“These are going to be wonderful but challenging sessions where we’re going to talk about the real problems happening in the U.S.,” Trump said in a statement promoting the tour.

He promised a provocative talk, saying, “I will focus on greatness for our Country, something that is rarely discussed in political dialogue. If we do not make our Country great again, we will soon have no Country! ”

Prior to the American Airlines event, Trump will attend an 11 am Christmas service at First Baptist Church.

Senior Pastor Robert Jeffress was one of Trump’s earliest and most vocal supporters among evangelical Christian leaders during the 2016 campaign. He became one of Trump’s most prominent Christian advisers and followers and became a frequent visitor to the White House during his presidency.

Jeffress, however, said he would avoid politics on Sunday.

“My message has absolutely nothing to do with politics. It’s about Christmas. … Everyone is invited to attend this Sunday – Republican, Democrat, independent,” Jeffress said. “This is not a political event …. The music as well as my message focus on the most important event in human history, the birth of Jesus Christ. ”

The auditorium where Trump will attend the 11 am Sunday service has 3,000 seats. Entry is first come first serve, with security lines opening two hours earlier.

There is space for 1,600 more to watch livestream, and various overflow spaces. In all, about 6,000 people will go to campus with Trump, Jeffress predicted.

A choir of 250 to 300 singers, along with an orchestra, will offer Christmas music.

The church encourages face masks for anyone who hasn’t been vaccinated against COVID-19 but “most of our people are already vaccinated,” Jeffress said, and of course, “We don’t have deacons who wrestle if they are ‘ I don’t have a mask. “

This is Trump’s first time worshiping First Baptist personally. Last year, he attended the Easter service almost at the height of the pandemic.

Trump is likely to see friendly people at both events. He won in Texas by 5.6 percentage points more than President Joe Biden in 2020, but he’s still pushing for a big vote audit.
