Donald Trump Says Joe Biden Will ‘Bow to China’ by Not Investigating COVID Sources

Donald Trump accused President Joe Biden of “surrendering” to COVID-19 and joining China’s “cover-up” of the source of the virus by failing to put pressure on Beijing.

In a lengthy year -end newsletter to his supporters on Tuesday, the former president praised his administration’s coronavirus response and concluded he was “very good” at handling the pandemic. “It’s not close,” he wrote.

More than two years after SARS-CoV-2 was detected in the central city of Wuhan in China, the world is no longer close to knowing the source of the virus that causes COVID-19, a disease that has now killed more than 819,000 Americans and claim. more than 5.4 million lives worldwide.

In a recent interview with Fox News, Trump said it was “very clear” that the virus had escaped from a laboratory in Wuhan. In August, however, the Intelligence Community (IC) found that the evidence of the so -called “lab leak” theory was uncertain, after Biden gave the agencies 90 days to look again.

In his newsletter, the former president accused Biden of “bowing to China” and participating in Beijing’s cover -up.

“The Biden administration continues to refuse to hold China accountable for its role in the deadly spread of the coronavirus, which goes against President Trump’s request that China pay a trillion dollars for the damage it caused.”

Trump restored the reported death toll of COVID-19 in the U.S., which remains the highest in the world and has doubled more since Trump left office in January 2021.

“In a year, Joe Biden was a failed president who succumbed to the virus and broke his number one promise to the American people: to end the pandemic once-and-for-all,” Trump said. He suggested to Biden that “should be removed from office.”

Biden’s immediate challenge is to address the lack of rapid home screenings as the country continues to be vaccinated — only 61.8 percent of the population is fully vaccinated so far. Trump called the lack of access to trials a “national scandal.”

On Monday, Biden said he would support state governors as they fight the Omicron variant — now the dominant strain in the U.S. — during the holiday season.

His administration supported the next phase of WHO’s origin monitoring, which includes another look at the environment surrounding Wuhan as well as the Wuhan Institute of Virology. China has clearly rejected the proposal while also pushing its own conspiracy theory about COVID-19 as an American bioweapon.

Following the IC’s inconclusive origins review in August, Biden criticized Beijing for withholding critical information “from the beginning” of the pandemic. Chinese officials “worked to prevent international investigators and members of the global public health community from accessing it,” he said.

“The world deserves answers, and I’m not going to rest until we get them,” Biden said.
