Former president Donald Trump has announced his latest in an intermittent series of campaign-style rallies, this time set for Jan. 15 in Arizona-one of the states center on his false claim that it was stolen from him. the 2020 election.

Mr Trump’s return to the rally stage follows an address scheduled for January 6, the anniversary of the deadly attack on the US Capitol by a horde of his supporters. In his speech announcement, he described the insurrection as an “unarmed protest of rigged elections”.

Mr Trump’s public appearances will take place as the panel investigating the insurgency increasingly closes in on him and his allies, a process he has so far failed to stop in numerous court challenges.

The ex-commander in chief has also caused concern, confusion and in some cases anger among supporters in his recent statements celebrating the Covid-19 vaccines developed under his administration.

At a recent speaking event in Texas, he was booed when he told right-wing journalist Bill O’Reilly that he had received a booster shot. Later, in an interview with media agitator Candace Owens, she herself described the footage as “one of humanity’s greatest achievements”, insisting that those who received them were more likely to have severe Covid symptoms. and that “those who get sick and go to the hospital are the ones who don’t take the vaccine” – even though he also opposes orders for both vaccinations and masks.

Ms Owens, who tried and failed to guide Mr Trump towards an anti-vaccine position, eventually tried to interpret the change for her own viewers, thinking Mr Trump was using too much “mainstream media ”and thus unfamiliar with the side and discredited theories pushed by him and other Trump supporters.

Extremist radio host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who told Mr Trump in a message on Christmas Day: “You are utterly ignorant about the so-called‘ vaccine ’gene therapy that you helped ram by operation warp speed, or you are one of the worst people who ever lived. ”

Although the Omicron variant is rapidly spreading across the U.S. and unvaccinated Americans with Covid come to forced hospitals in larger numbers, the rhetoric against the vaccine continues to revolve sharply to the right. It remains to be seen whether Mr Trump will defend the footage when he re -takes the stage in front of a crowd of supporters.
