New York Attorney General Letitia James is subpoenaing two more of former President Donald Trump’s children, Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr., as well as Trump himself, in an ongoing investigation into financial fraud at his company, according to an injunction filed Monday in a New York court.

Another son, Eric Trump, was expelled by investigators in October 2020, and Donald Trump’s lawyers had previously confirmed a subpoena seeking the former president’s testimony.

The subpoena seeks “testimony and documents ‘related to an investigation into the valuation of assets owned or controlled by Donald J. Trump or the Trump Organization, or anything the Attorney General deems relevant.’ “

Lawyers for Trump filed a motion to dismiss the subpoenas Monday night.

A spokesman for the New York Attorney General’s Office said, “As his investigation into the Trump Organization’s financial dealings continues, Attorney General James is seeking interviews under the oath of Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Ivanka. Trump. Despite numerous attempts to delay our Trump Organization investigation, we are confident that our questions will be answered and the truth will be known because no one is beyond the law. “

Trump sued James on Dec. 21, accusing his office of having political motivations for investigating the former president. In a phone call to CBS News that day, he called himself an “aggrieved and innocent party” and called James’ investigation “a fraud.”

Ronald Fischetti, representing Donald Trump, said that day that while James ’investigation was civil in nature, an ongoing criminal investigation in Manhattan was among the reasons why Trump did not want to be ousted. Staff from James ’office have been assigned to the Manhattan district attorney’s investigation, which has already led to lawsuits against the Trump Organization and its CFO, Allen Weisselberg.

“He put his own people, at least four of them, in the district attorney’s office. And they talk to the grand jury. They go to the grand jury when the witnesses are stressed,” Fischetti said. “They’re still asking for a civil deposition so he can get the answers he gets and give them to the Manhattan district attorney.”
