John Dean Explains Why Donald Trump ‘Shouldn’t Sleep Well’ on January 6th

Attorney General Merrick Garland vowed Wednesday to hold accountable anyone involved in the deadly unrest in the U.S. Capitol “to any degree.”

John Dean, the White House adviser to Richard Nixon who later overthrew the then president in the Watergate scandal, saw that as a warning to former President Donald Trump and his allies.

“Donald Trump and his accomplices shouldn’t sleep well!” Dean tweeted.

Garland, amid rising criticism that the Department of Justice is focused on charging the rioters rather than those who incited and planned the uprising, vowed that “the actions we have taken so far are not our last. “

“The Justice Department remains committed to holding all Jan. 6 offenders to any degree, accountable under the law, whether they were present that day, or otherwise criminally responsible for the attack. our democracy, ”he said. “We will follow the facts wherever they lead.”

More than 700 people have been charged in the assault, 300 of those with felonies, Garland said.

“Those involved must be held accountable. And there is no higher priority for us at the Department of Justice, ”he added.
