Donald Glover shared the Behind-the-Scenes Look in the ‘Atlanta’ Writers ’Room

It was only two months before Atlanta’s long -awaited return, and before its release Donald Glover released some rare behind -the -scenes glimpses into the writers ’room.

In the volume of Instagram posts, the FX series creator and star doesn’t typically share a photo and video dump of himself and the writing team for Seasons 3 and 4. In seven posts, that number consists of a carousel of the photos, Glover gave fans a sense for the atmosphere in which the very likely-brilliant scripts for the two new seasons came together.

Moments include an impression of Michael B. Jordan’s Black Panther character, a very important Zoom screenshot with a visible YouTube video of “The Poop Lady – Hoarders”, some jumproping, and varying beard lengths. The first post had the caption “(2019-2020) p1,” and followed by a “p2” and “p3” as well as a “bonus” and some untapped additions.

The Atlanta writers ’room in recent seasons has featured Stefani Robinson (What We Do in the Shadows), Taofik Kolade (Barry), Ibra Ake, Jamal Olori, Fam Udeorji, and Donald and Stephen Glover. Stephen wrote the film Guava Island starring Rihanna/Donald, with story credits for Ake, Olori, Udeorji, and the man once known as Childish Gambino.

The show is scheduled to resume production in early 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic pushed those plans. FX previously wanted to debut Season 3 in 2019, but due to a very busy schedule for Glover and others on the highly in-demand team, it couldn’t. Production finally began last year in April, and the third season will air on FX and Hulu on March 24th.

The first trailer for the show’s new episodes, which will take place in Europe while Paper Boi tours, has arrived at the end of 2021. Atlanta was given a Season 4 order even before Season 3 went into production, but has not yet been confirmed by FX when fans expect.
