Donald Trump tweeted an endorsement of Lauren Boebert

On Dec. 15, twice-impeachable, one-time former president Donald Trump, endorsed U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert in her bid for re-election in 2022. Her recommendation came less than 24 hours after the House passed the law that would create the State Department’s duty to address Islamophobia around the world-a bill made in response to video evidence of Boebert’s recent attack on Representative Ilhan Omar, suggesting he was a terrorist.

The announcement came, as you might expect from Trump’s management style, via tweet – only via his latest spokeswoman Liz Harrington on the Twitter account, as the formerly beloved and used account is still permanently banned. dating POTUS. And when you’re too dirty for the social media cesspool, man, you’re dirty in every way.

Trump’s statement is short and the language generic: four sentences with a lot of attacks and no real substance-similar to the Trump administration itself. But we take it seriously, because American politics has been small but a joke for a long time.

“Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has done an amazing job in her first term representing Colorado’s Third District,” Trump’s endorsement began. What’s interesting about this simplistic opening sentence is Trump’s unique style nor his usual level of detail. On the one hand, the adjective “amazing” is reminiscent of something a seventh grader might say about a book he or she hasn’t read in a hurried essay. On the other hand, there was no misspelling, and the text corrected Boebert’s district.

“He was a fearless leader, an advocate of America’s First Agenda, and a fighter against the defeated RINO and Radical Democrats,” the second sentence declares, as Trump begins to shine. He holds back on that first sentence, but here’s Trump in all his being Trumpi. We have the empty declaration of the “fearless fighter.” The self-serving reference to his own “America First” revenue-generating policies, in conjunction with the incorrect placement of capitalization on the “Agenda,” suggests that there is such an existing entity available to defend. And then he really started to get into it by calling members of his own party “losers” and putting them as “Republicans In Name Only.” The “Radical Democrats” thing is pretty trivial for Trump, however, more misguided capitalization aside.

“He will continue to be tough on Crime, strong on Borders, and will always protect our under siege in the Second Amendment” is the sentence in which Trump is trying to be specific. But outside of the general sense of his support for him and some very bizarre gun fetish, Trump probably doesn’t know everything about Boebert. So he plays the most hits, the things he talks about, not the things he actually does in his time in public service: crime, immigration and the constant masturbatory fever dream about someone in the gub ‘ mint who wants to take all the guns. But it really shows a pretty strong match between Trump and Boebert: They can both talk, but when it comes to actual policy, all they know how to do is start shouting.

And then the last line: “Lauren got my Complete and Total Endorsement for her re-election!” Kind of a toss-off, really, for the typically verbose Trump. Capitalization has been misplaced again, and really, nothing new. Without that last sentence, would the message be vague? Will Trump supporters be left with confusion other than what they normally run? Will they think “Hmm … I’m confused, King Trump-Is your endorsement Complete and Total?” No, but any seventh grade essay worth its D- needs to recapitulate its thesis in its last line.

So far, the reaction to Trump’s endorsement has been a collective shrug. Trump endorsed a loyal vassal for the presidency; this is not really news. From the very beginning, Boebert has been a follower of Trumpian politics, a participant in the big lie, a vocal supporter of the Jan. 6 insurrection, acting in ways that are already destructive and can only be exacerbated by the ongoing investigation. Trump, for his part, loves people who love him blindly and without regard to the evidence.

click to enlarge And Boebert is, if nothing else, very good in the absence of consideration. Just look at his tweet from Dec. 11, in which he said that more than 365,000 children “disappeared in 2020” and “you haven’t heard a word from the media about it. That’s the problem.” Sure, he means “there’s the problem,” but let’s get over his lack of vocabulary knowledge on the bigger issue: He echoes a QAnon conspiracy theory that completely wrongly represents the facts. . Most of that number – 95 percent – is made up of runaways, children who fly and spend at least one night away from their homes. Another 1 percent were abducted by an uncaring parent. There’s more to the breakdown available at the National Crime Information Center online, but the main issue is this: Boebert and Trump aren’t just willing to spread alarmist and damaging misinformation; that misinformation is the basis of their message. The goal is not to govern, but to manipulate the American public. And so Boebert’s endorsement of his liege, Donald. click to enlarge Boebert quickly released a tweet response, saying he was “more than humbled and honored to receive Donald J. Trump’s endorsement!” And like his mentor, he made it a lucrative opportunity by soliciting cold, hard money, and providing a link to have it sent to him right away.

And so the rotten apple was shown not far from falling into the greedy orange tree.
